Foodograph is a one-woman stock food photography site maintained by Vancouver-based food photographer Michelle Furbacher. It is the evolution of Michelle Meals, a half-joking food blog started in 2008 as a place to record what I ate for dinner every day. Really, the blog was more of an experiment to see if I could publicly shame myself into becoming a better cook (at the time I consumed a large amount of frozen pizzas).
This food diary soon became a place to practice and hone my food photography skills on a daily basis. Between the blog and my day job as art director for a cookbook publisher, my love of food photography developed alongside a growing archive of images.
I have compiled this archive here, adding more photos to the count every week. I hope you can find something to suit your needs — and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, send me a message — I do custom photography as well. I am continuing to blog here on this site, but if you don’t care about food photography and just want to spy on what a stranger eats every once in a while, the original Michelle Meals still putters away over here.
My photos have appeared in several cookbooks, on the Food Network website, and in a number of local publications. I do all my own food styling and prop sourcing. I have also done some food styling for television segments.
I’m also available to cover food-related events. I have photographed cooking competitions, festivals and launches. Send me a message for more info.
